At GBMC, we use most of our rooms daily. This is not true in many hospitals, and many hospitals are adding more rooms. Laurie, I agree that closing some of the rooms in the region would make our health care stronger and would put less financial strain on our region.John Chessare MDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16921654505743608351noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-597716632228519200.post-30908067732212293332012-02-06T06:56:08.455-08:002012-02-06T06:56:08.455-08:00Roemer's Law is clearly evident in the medical...Roemer's Law is clearly evident in the medical arena and proof that supply doesn't always meet demand. Therefore, the waste (surplus) becomes everyone's financial burden. And, I agree with the above comment that eliminating (closing) the unused beds would make the rest of the organization stronger and more efficient and put resources where they are needed most -- both personnel and financial.Lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15157695523052433014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-597716632228519200.post-17464759372008758992012-02-03T12:40:32.967-08:002012-02-03T12:40:32.967-08:00In my opinion I strongly think that we dont need t...In my opinion I strongly think that we dont need the 310 beds at geater baltimore we could cut the 90 beds throught the institution that are either broking and out off date, or not used yearly according to the the data or information per unit at GBMC. I say yes we would be better off without them at the hospital because it would provide better health care and attention to the patients who are in the GBMC area which also would mean cleaner pateint rooms and cleaned at a timely manner more immediate care from docs, nurses, techs, etc. which would strengthen the communitiy.Quinton Smith EVSnoreply@blogger.com
